time capsule for dedicated backup

I am setting up a new Mac Pro and want to use Time Capsule as a wired dedicated backup device. On my Mac I have a 1TB internal drive that will be used solely for software and application work areas. I have a 4TB external drive where all of my user files reside. I want to hardwire connect Time Capsule to my Mac and use it only to backup the internal drive. I have a separate 8TB drive that I will use software like ChronoSync to backup my 4TB user drive. I am using one of the Ethernet ports on my Mac to connect to my home network. I have one Ethernet port open on my Mac. Can I use the available Mac Ethernet port and connect Time Capsule to the Mac to serve as a dedicated backup device?

The Time Capsule connects to your modem or modem router using a wired Ethernet cable connection. Connect from the modem to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule and configure the Time Capsule to create a wireless network.

If you don't need the wireless service, it can be turned off once the Time Capsule has been set up to work with your modem or modem/router.

Your Mac can then back up to the Time Capsule by connecting an Ethernet cable from the Mac to one of the three LAN <--> ports on the back of the Time Capsule. Be sure to turn off the wireless on the Mac to insure that the backup will occur over the Ethernet connection.
