how do i copy ALL of my music from my iPad to my iMac

it seems that Apple will not allow me to sync all of my music that is on my iPad to my iMac only the music that I purchased from i Tunes has been copied. Also the vast majority of the music that i had on my iPod, which had the same content as my iPad, has been lost. All albums are still showing but most are in a light grey script and will not play whilst the remainder which are in clear black script do play. What is happening Apple, have you vetoed the music that I did not purchase from you? I did buy one of your iPods, 2 of your iPads and a 21" Apple iMac. Are you TRUMPING me because I am Scottish.

This is correct. If you want to transfer all of your music files from the iPad, then a separate App like FileBrowser might allow that. Check with the FileBrowser support folks to verify.
