Q: 4013 error with 9.3.5 update

This error can be caused by several things. It could be a hardware failure, software problem or a peripheral. Here's what I would try. swap out the charger for a different one. It has to have at the very least 1A of output, but this could increase the resistance of whatever charger you are using over time if you are trying to charge an iPad and the output will go down as it heats up. The OEM charger is rated for 10W and on 110VAC household voltage gives you around 1A, so try to stick to chargers that can supply at least 10% of that. It could also be your charging chord. You could have a frayed wire or shield. Another thing that can cause this is a software update. If you had you iPad plugged in to a faulty charger or power chord, it could put electrical noise into the system and corrupt the update as its happening., which you will have to use iTunes and restore it to factory. after you do this, Go to settings/general/reset/erase all content and settings. This will allow you to then restore your device from an iCloud backup. If you don't use iCloud then just restore it from your iTunes backup. Let us know how you make out...

In that case, you can put the iPad into recovery mode by holding down the power and home buttons for something like 15 seconds and you will eventually see the iTunes logo and charging chord on the screen. Plug it into iTunes at this point and it should allow you to restore the iPad, but only to factory. you should still be able to go through and erase content, then restore from backup as I previously explained

If you attempted the steps in the support document provided and are still experiencing the 4013 error, the last line in the support document states:

If you continue to see error 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you try to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, contact us.

Looks like ChrisJ4203 is right. To add to that, sounds like its a hardware issue if you can't get anywhere. Sorry about that and hope you can get it repaired without too much $$

Apple does not support downgrading of iOS.

Your best bet is to start your own thread, ask your question, and provide any information you can about what you have done. What version of iPhone are you using, what computer OS, what version number of iTunes, what error codes or statements do you receive, the exact text.

Someone can read your post and respond. The only reason that I've seen it is because I was part of this original thread.
