apple usb ethernet adaptor A1277 suddenly not working with macbook air
Apple USB to ethernet adaptor model A1277 was working fine with my mid 2011 macbook air until I installed EL Capitan. Network utility recognizes it (it picks up the mac address when I plug it in a USB port) but it does not connect any more (no packets are sent or received and no IP address is loaded when using DHCP or with a manually assigned IP address). The network cable is OK, the router is also working, the LAN outlet on the router is also working with other Pc's but not with my Macbook Air. Have rebooted the rooter and Macbook but it has not helped.
The adaptor is not used often and I do not think it has failed suddenly. I would expect it to fail while I was using it.
Any suggestions on how to get it working again?
