My trackpad has lost its firmness. I have a Mac. I cannot figure out how to make it firmer. When I search on this issue I see options for settings that my software does not offer -- I have no option for adjusting firmness. What is going on? Thanks.

I am not a Mac expert...at all. My Mac trackpad has suddenly lost its firmness. I cannot find the controls to adjust it. When I search for a solution online I see options that I cannot see when I try on my own Mac. I am utterly at a loss..any ideas? Thanks

It is a MacBook Pro, but a laptop not a desktop. Thank you...

So my trackpad no longer "clicks" (the computer is only about 18-months old). When I search online I see instruction which do not math my software. In other words when I click on "trackpad" I do not see what the instructions say I should see! And I have downloaded all the latest software. I cannot find any way to adjust the sensitivity of my trackpad...

Yes I can do that but it is a pain..

If going to the Apple Store is too much of a pain, you can request a mailer and mail it to them.

The physical feel of the trackpad is unlikely to change from anything you do in software. It is also possible the underlying problem is a swollen battery, so you should definitely get your Mac inspected soon. If the battery swells so much that it ruptures, it could catch fire.
