How do I block email from specific senders?

I am tired of looking over a large number of emails in my junk folder. Much of the email comes from the same senders. How can I block email from specific senders?

Dual 1.8 G%, Mac OS X (10.5)

Junk mail is automatically deleted after 30 days > iCloud: Manage junk mail

Write rules in your mail preferences to have it moved or deleted.

You can set up a rule. Open Mail, then go to Mail > Preferences > Rule > Add Rule. You can specify the sender, and then for the action, choose Delete message.
