it seems my iPod touch 5th generation drains my battery quickly

I do not use my iPod touch frequently during the day. I do use it for internet and a few games, not video, just board games. Yet I frequently find the pod touch low on power every other day. I am surprised. My iPad mini retains power for a longer period of time, and I use it more frequently. Bigger battery? I don't know. I have have been upgrading my iPod touch over the years to the latest generation and this is the worst experience I have had for draining the battery. Could it be the latest generation of IOS? i don't know. Any comments would help. thank you.

iPods dont have very good battery lives. They are very much unlike the iphone. iPads have this very same problem. If you bought it second hand, it maybe a problem with your ipod to cause them to sell it. But, if you bought it new and it is used by you, I would go to the genius bar, and ask them. I am not sure why Apple is having this issue 😕 Hope this helped a little.

I found out that the updates of iOS 9.3.3 and 9.3.4 (I did not check 9.3.5 long enough) drain the battery even more. I set up a bug report and Apple sent me a special system profile to log the power consumption. Luckily, I could go back to 9.3.2 with my iPod but my wife's device is on 9.3.5 now and can't be rolled back.

I would like to read out the battery loadcycles with CoconutBattery and iBackupBot but they are reported as 0 (zero) on both devices. Why can't they read out?
