Aug 27, 2016 10:23 PM in response to gbawayby elcpu,Try Recovery Mode:
Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo.
Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen and wait for it to restore.
You may have to do the above more than once as recovery mode is difficult to get into.
Restore as New first and test it. Then restore from backup if desired. If the backup is corrupted it will likely bring back the issue.

If the above steps do not help, you may have to take it to an Apple store for testing.

Aug 28, 2016 4:35 AM in response to elcpuby gbaway,Thanks. I've done that a few times already and it did not solve the problem.
Every single time iOS boots and tries to download and install an app either from wifi/cloud or iTunes, it reboots until the battery is completely drained.

Aug 28, 2016 8:08 AM in response to gbawayby gbaway,Right. So, I managed to restore without using the backup, setting the phone as a new one.
The issue, however, persists.
Symptoms:
* When trying to sync with iCloud, it overheats and reboots.
* When trying to download from Audible (this app has 250+ MB files), it overheats and reboots.
* When trying to sync songs for offline listening with Apple Music, it overheats and reboots.
Possible causes:
* Battery: it could be a defective battery, yet the battery is only 2 weeks old and didn't have any issues before upgrading to 9.3.5.
* Borked ipsw: I've upgraded from iTunes, which is a 1.5+ GB update against the 25+ MB update from the iPhone's system update. This is more likely, since I haven't heard of any issues with 9.3.5 installed from the phone so far.:Possible solutions:
* Restore and set up iPhone as new one; Tho, forget about using services that rely on heavy network usage, such as iCloud or Apple Music.
* It might be a bug. Wait for the 9.3.6 to fix it. Manually rolling back to 9.3.4 did nothing for me.
* Flush your iPhone down your toilet and get a new phone (actually, don't do that - you'll end up with a clogged toilet and two problems instead of just one)Cheers.
