I would like to inhibit the Calendar app lauching with a swipe from the right of the screen.
I Use my iPad to read, and swiping to change pages drags the Calendar out to the front....most irritating!

You can turn Settings > General > Multitasking > Allow Multiple Apps 'off', that will stop swipe from the right-hand edge showing other apps - you can't just disable it in iBooks
Thanks ever so much, twice over! That was really aggravating me..all sorted now. The thing about Apple software is that one always knows that the detail has not been overlooked, and when unable to 'unlock' a solution by oneself, it is easy to feel a little dumb. I did for a while, but now realise that it was only one level deeper! Fantastic....
