Q: Metal in an older iMac
Is this Metal technology hard wired into later models of iMac (etc)? My mid-2011 doesn't have Metal but I am asking if it is something that can be installed. I want to play Obduction without having to buy a new computer. With thanks.

No, Metal is not something that can be installed, and even if it could, it still would not load on an incompatible Mac.
