Sep 1, 2016 8:04 AM in response to mendonipadrehabby JimmyCMPIT,unfortunately that comes with the territory and Apple is far from the only company who will send you a flawed item to replace the same item that borked and they might as well send you a time bomb.
it's possible since the chipsets for the 6 are provided from several different geographic locations that the flawed chips can be traced back to a single location since not all iPhone 6's are effected, meaning your replacement (if Apple offers one) is not affected. It's also possible Apple is waiting to see if they can identify if the phones affected can trace this flaw and make them eligible for a repair (by manufacturing date, specific serial # range, etc.) as they have done with various hardware devices over the years that can be identified as being flawed when they were sold, but again I'm not a deciding voice at Apple and the cost of this issue vs the loss of consumer confidence pie-chart someone is probably presenting to the board of directors who will address or ignore was not shown to me, so this makes my statement pure speculation on my part.

Sep 8, 2016 9:32 AM in response to mendonipadrehabby UserSlammy,What can we who have the touch disease do? Wait for the lawsuit to be settled? Buy a samsung? Succumb to Apple? I know personally I don't want to buy another iPhone that might break down 17 days after my warranty expires.

Sep 8, 2016 9:41 AM in response to Rudinoby mdfromcroydon,When i uploaded my views on touch disease in this community it was deleted by the apple. I hope they don't delete ur question and let people know about the product and the response they give us. I have the same problem.

Sep 8, 2016 9:44 AM in response to Rudinoby rkppavan,I have this problem on my iPhone 6 and the tech support could not help me... they suggested i change display or pay for a new phone.. pathetic service and total waste of money.
I might as well could have gotten a cheaper phone rather than spend $800 on a phone that has basic hardware issues after an year.
-
Sep 8, 2016 9:52 AM in response to rkppavanby mdfromcroydon,They mean to say that your $800 is worth only for a year.
Solutions they provide
1) Pay $350 to exchange the phone
2) Throw ur phone in the bin
3) Or go for iPhone 7 and waste another $769.

In the short time I've followed this issue, I've seen your posts. I've noticed that you hardly ever mention that you have a monetary investment in this. I mean, you are in the business of making these repairs
I have said that I find touch ic to be a boring and repetitive chore, and said that I can't wait for this epidemic to be over. My motivation for posting on these forums is to educate consumers about ALL their options for repair of a problem. I'm a well known advocate for the independent repair industry. The reality is that the voice of independent repair is vilified and suppressed--especially on these forums---and that is unfair.

Every phone has signature failures--a specific problem at we see many many times, but none occur at epidemic rates like 6+ touch disease. I had to build special shelving just to accommodate the huge volume of this one repair.
yet you claim to "make no money from it"

Sep 8, 2016 10:02 AM in response to mdfromcroydonby rkppavan,I had another post with all the details regarding the same issue. I hoped someone would contact me with a solution or suggestion but Apple deleted the post, minutes within creation saying it wasn't constructive.
so i guess these forums are just to discuss how great the iPhone is.

The lawsuit hasn't even been FILED yet; it's just a gleam in some lawyer's eye. After it's filed, and, assuming the court accepts it as class action (a really big assumption), there may be a settlement in about 5 years.

Sep 11, 2016 3:08 PM in response to UserSlammyby shellyfromredford,My daughter's did this less than a month after her warranty expired! This is definitely an issue Apple should resolve!

Sep 12, 2016 11:10 AM in response to Rudinoby Legolas1971,My phone has the touch disease issue as well. I just spoke to an Apple technical adviser today
and they said that because my phone is outside of the warranty there's nothing they can do. I told them
I was disappointed because I've been a loyal Apple user since the 3g came out; not to mention
the number of MacBooks and Ipads I've bought over the years.
Anyway, my phone is almost un-useable and I'm gonna try to get a 7 on Friday. Not much else
I can do. My wife has different problems with her Samsung Galaxy so I'm not gonna bother with
one of those either.

Sep 14, 2016 3:05 PM in response to Rudinoby Woody in North Potomac,My iPhone 6 plus has been inflicted by the touch disease as of 9/10/16 after 20 months in service. Based on what I hear, unless Apple addresses this issue ASAP, they will most likely lose our family's business for a LOOOONG time. Our family of five will stop buying Apple product and services.
