    Hello Mallie B.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see that you would like to know the sent location of a text message that you have received. I completely understand. My friends and I often share our location when sending text messages. I can help you with this.

The sender of the text message will have to share their location when sending. The sender can share for one hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely. Unless the sender shares their location, you are unable to determine this.

Use the article Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, specifically, this section:

    Send and share your location

To send or share your location with friends and family in a messages conversation, follow these steps:

    1. Open the conversation and tap Details in the upper-right corner.
    2. Tap Send my Current Location. The recipient will see your location and can tap the map to get directions.
    3. Or tap Share my Location. Then choose the length of time you want to share your location for. You can share for one hour, one day, or indefinitely. Messages will set up temporary or permanent location sharing with Find my Friends depending on what you choose. This allows the recipient to view your location.

    Have an amazing day!
