how do we fix this problem unable to share there was an error while preparing to share

Apparently, this question has been asked for at least 2 years. Why aren't we able to just open a folder when we hook it up to a computer and access our videos. Apple does not care or value it's customers considering there has been no resolution. I will be switching back to Android where they do not hold your media hostage.
