Apple Maps - removal instructions are the only acceptable answer

Way beyond flaky, frequently just wrong, should NEVER be the default map application, and is best removed altogether.

Replies saying "you can't remove it" are not helpful.

Total obliteration is desired, with total inactivation, google map as default, is an acceptable minimum.

"All over the world" based on complaints dotted around different forums (fora?) on the topic.

Right in my neughborhood, it shows major highways with hbig gaps, possible as they were during construction more than 20 years ago.

I expect map apps to be a year or two behind new minor roads, not a decade or two behind on major highways.

Thus not usable. I can't trust it.

I Trust it does not lead you astray.

On my iPad and iPhone, the Maps app is "parked" out of the way, and the google maps app is on the front "page", because it works.

Do I find google's pervasive data collection to my liking? No, but I find the Apple map application unacceptably weak, and likely to result in serious navigation errors. Some people may be happy with the aesthetics, but I'm not happy with the functionality.

So, Mr Galt, if Apple wishes to keep critical apps in house, please deliver on the accuracy so that we don't have to wish for alternatives.

In the meantime, it would be handy to be able to choose the default action upon clicking an address in mail, messages, etc.

Thanks
