Q: locking in wi fi network on Ipad 2

I have an ipad 2. I just started using a wi fi card in my Canon Rebel camera. I use this to check my lighting and other things when I do a studio shoot with studio flash. I can see the image instantly on my ipad and then I use my Pro camera to do the shoot. When I start, I go to settings on my ipad, I find the eye fi wi fi and then choose it to make the images transfer to my ipad. the problem is that if I make a few changes in lighting and then go back to my ipad settings, the wi fi network has changed back to my wi fi network that I use in my home. is there a way I can lock in the wi fi network from the memory card so it stays there until I change it back to my home wi fi network

    Hello John Hough.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you have to select your Eyefi's Wi-Fi network each time you want your iPad to connect to it, even if it was just previously connected. I'm glad to provide some clarity on this behavior.

According to this Eyefi Mobi and Mobi Pro Troubleshooting Guide this behavior is expected. Since this is a large document, I quoted the section here for you.

On iPhone or iPad: Did your device connect to your Eyefi Mobi card's Wi-Fi network?

Due to the way iPhones and iPads manage networks, you may need to manually select your Eyefi card's wireless network every time you use it.

Note: If you have previously set up Infrastructure Support for Mobi Pro, you will need to disable it before following the steps below.

    1. Take a couple of photos so your Eyefi Mobi card can create its own Wi-Fi network; this will only work if you have already installed the Eyefi card profile
    2. Go to your Apple device's Settings
    3. Tap Wi-Fi
    4. Tap the network named Eye-Fi Card followed by numbers (it will look something like "Eye-Fi Card ######")

It may take a minute or so for your Apple device to see the Eye-Fi card network. Once you have connected to the Eye-Fi card network, go back to the Eyefi Mobi app. Your photos are probably already transferring and you may find yourself in the main view of the app.
