Q: iPhoto recognizes iPhone, but won't import photos
Hi all,
A few weeks ago I plugged in my iPhone 5 to my Mac desktop to import my photo library so I could delete them off my phone and save space. The phone synced normally with iPhone, but only recognized a week or two of my most recent photos -- I have 3 months worth on the phone. It's like the others just didn't exist. I gave up trying to figure out the issue then but am trying to tackle it today. I did a full update sweep on both the computer and the phone, and now iPhoto won't even recognize the few photos it did. It doesn't seem like a syncing issue -- iPhoto is recognizing my device.
Any ideas what's going on and how I can fix it?

Is iCloud Photo Library enabled on your iPhone? Then you cannot download the photos any longer from the iPhone by a USB connection. The problem is, that with iCloud Photo Library enabled the photos are only mirrored on the iPhone and are stored in iCloud. The mirrored versions on the iPhone will give random results in the Import window.
So check the iCloud settings for Photos on your iPhone. If iCloud Photo Library is on, you need to use iCloud to download the photos.
