Can't install Win Media Player 11

Hello everyone,
I need Windows Media Player version 11 to play clips on my Mac Book Pro. I have the latest OS X. It seams that the latest version for Mac is 9. Am I wrong or can I in fact install the latest version? I was under the impression that with the dual-processor I should be able to install Windows and Mac versions for programs.

Thanks for anyone who can help,
Roger

Hi Roger!

Windows and Mac versions of Windows Media Player are different. The latest version of Windows Media Player for Mac is 9.0 and it has been discontinued by Microsoft. Microsoft is encouraging Mac users to use Flip4Mac. Have a look at this page on Microsoft's website <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/otherproducts/otherproducts.aspx?pid=windowsmedia >.

If you need to run Windows Media Player 11 you'll only be able to do so within Windows and not the Mac OS. To run Windows on your Intel Mac you'll need either Boot Camp from Apple <http://www.apple.com/bootcamp> or a third party application such as Parallels from <http://www.parallels.com>. Neither of these includes Windows itself; they only allow you to run Windows. You'll also have to purchase Windows installer disk and license.

Hope this helps! bill
