Howard Brazee

Q: sharing apps between mac and ipad pro

When I double clicked my iPad Pro, I saw a gray bar at the bottom that had Safari - From "Howard Brazee's Computer.   When I opened it, Safari came up with a web page I had looked at earlier today on Chrome.    I went to my Mac, and saw a Chrome icon left of the Doc, with an image of an iPad on it.  Moving my cursor over it, I see it says "Google Chrome - From iPad".

I closed the app on my iPad Pro, and started Safari on my Mac.  Then I repeated the double click and selected the iPad Pro.   It opened Safari with the earlier tab and with this tab here (I'm in Chrome).    I tried opening some other apps to the front on my Mac.   If it's mail, my iPad will open mail but not find anything (I don't get mail on my iDevices).   I tried Photos and TextEdit and iBooks but they didn't talk with each other (and Safari didn't show up on my iPad gray bar until I moved the focus back to Chrome).   So I Googled to find out how this works without luck.   Is there a tutorial somewhere that explains what's happening here?
