Both have verified that it is correct. Any suggestions?. This issue started after the last three iOS updates.
Do you mean that the password was verified by the email provider? Have you tried deleting the email account and adding it back again?

Aug 29, 2016 7:06 AM in response to Demoby Misawa65,YYes the password was verified by the email provider and Apple Support and on both devices. Both devices were completely and all the devices were set up again as though they were new. Nothing has helped.

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.
