battery life iPad Pro 9.7

My iPad Pro 9.7 has a battery life of less than 5 hours. I have shut down all programs, emptied the cache and turned off "true toning." My previous iPad had a battery life of just short of 10 hours. Do I take it back to the store or do you have a suggestion please?
