Q: Macbook Pro heats up while charging
Hi Guys,
So I'm planning on buying a mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15", but when I went to see the macbook I noticed that the magsafe connector as well as the top left portion of the macbook gets pretty heated while charging (even with the computer at idle, but screen turned on). Is this normal for macbooks?
Also I noticed that the battery cycle count was 24, which I thought was surprisingly low for a macbook of 2012. But when I asked the seller about it, he claimed that the macbook was manufactured in 2014 even though the model is mid-2012. Is this true, has Apple been manufacturing the 15" MBP mid-2012 version in 2014? or do you think the battery may have been replaced?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated since I don't have much experience with macs. Thanks in advance.

The 2012 non-retina 15" MBP was discontinued by Apple in October 2013.
24 cycles for any MBP more that 1 year would be extraordinary in my view (unless the battery has been replaced).
The charger connection to the MBP should not get hot while in use.
Look for another MBP.
Ciao.
