Did installing this update (10.11.6) brick others' machines?
I'm waiting for 10.11.7 or higher.

I did. Thank you! I had to re-image from my time machine. Also ran into the "no ui login" bug. (blank screen and just a cursor".
Good to see the Mac up and running.
