Aug 29, 2016 2:56 PM in response to hashtagFastby elcpu,Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage (the first one) > and if there is an update listed, delete it. Then restart the device, go to Settings > General > Software Update and try downloading the update again.
If this does not help try updating through iTunes on your computer.

Per suggestion, I tried to update using iTunes and it also failed. I did get some additional details but I don't understand what it means. iTunes displays the message "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be updated. This device isn't eligible for the requested build." Then I click the "More Info" button i get pointed to this website:
