Battery drains after 20 mins on full charge

My iPad Air First Generation is having issues with battery. After I fully charge the device to 100% the percentage will stay the same for about 15 minutes before going down to about 20% before shutting down on itself after 20 minutes total usage time. I have never downloaded anything or accessed anything that was suspicious and i only use app store apps. This has been going on for about 6 months and its very frustrating.

Try downloading the app Battery Life which is available for free from the App Store. Test the battery with it and if defective, schedule an appointment at an Apple store for possible replacement.

My first gen iPad did the same thing. Apple replaced the battery and that did the job.

Apple does not replace batteries in their stores so you would have to send it in > iPad Battery & Power - Official Apple Support
