Q: Macbook wifi connection drops network from internet
My home network drops internet connection when I connect to my router via wireless with my mac book pro. There are 5 other devices connected by wifi and the system is stable for days if my macbook is not connected. Other devices include iphone, android phone, kindle, another slightly newer macbook pro. If I connect to the router by ethernet cable, the system is completely stable. As soon as I start my wifi device on my mac book pro and log on to the network, the internet connection drops for all devices on the network and I have to power cycle the router. The router is relatively new (less than one year). It is a TRENDnet TEW 812DRU. This problem did not occur initially. My lap top works fine on all other wifi networks I connect to.
MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

when you are suspicious of Network settings, the way to walk away from all assumptions is to set it up again from scratch.
System preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > (assist me) > ( Assistant )...
Take extra care to specify a new named "Location" that has meaning to you, like "Home" or Greg's Office"
