DVDSP crashes on burning

Mmm, this App has started to play-up. Been getting either a 'device error' or just crashing when attempting to burn. Done some cleaning (micro cloth wrapped around thin card then a firm but caring prod) to possibly remove any dust on the lens - nothing.

It will play DVDs and I've just check it will also burn a folder full of stuff, so the SuperDrive appears OK. Tried a very small new DVDSP project of just a minute and this also crashes.

So, I think it's the application – apart from a hammer (and Apple's reluctance to acknowledge many still use those shiny round disk-thingys), any suggestions, please?
