Q: Unable to start my iPhone
Last year, around September, I was scrolling through Instagram when my phone suddenly blacked out. I am quite good with technology so as expected, I immediately tried to do a hard reset but nothing appeared. I thought maybe my the battery was bugged and it was displaying the wrong number, so I went to let it charge for a few hours. Unfortunately, the situation was the same. I then gave up on this phone for about a year but recently, I really need the data in the phone back if not, just a normal working phone would be good enough.
I tried connecting it to my computer and restoring it but it didn't work. When I tried restoring it, the progress bar is always stuck and will not budge. I even left it overnight once. I never received any error codes while restoring though.
I have tried:
- Going into DFU mode and restore
- Reinstall everything related to Apple on my computer
- Changing the USB cable, especially to the default Apple cable
- Using an entirely different computer
- Using 3rd party softwares such as Dr.Fone and iCareFone
In case you were wondering, this phone is obviously not Jailbroken.
Specifications you may need:
- iPhone 5C
- iOS 9 (I suspect it is the iOS that caused this problem as a few hours after I updated my phone, lead me to this and the iOS was still relatively unstable back then.)
Additional information:
I opened up the iPhone and there doesn't seem to be any water damage (water damage indicators weren't lit) and the connection between the LCD and the logic board seem fine.
I hope someone can assist me with this problem. I honestly do not want to spend any money on this.
iPhone 5c, iOS 9
