Q: forgotten airport time capsule password

I have forgotten the password to my airport time capsule and cannot access the settings in airport utility.  How can I change the password to edit the settings again?  Thank you.

Please check the information about a Soft Reset in this Apple Support document.

Thank you for your reply, but the soft reset removes my time capsule from airport utility during the orange flashing period not allowing me to access anything.  Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, I cannot duplicate the issue that you are reporting.

The amber light flashes, but I can access the settings of the AirPort device in AirPort Utility without being asked for a password.....so I can change the Base Station password, Wireless password, etc.

Try turn off the WiFi on your Mac and then connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac to one of the three LAN <--> ports and try the Soft Reset again that way.

If you are still having difficulty, then you will have to try a Hard Reset to get the Time Capsule back to its original default settings and then set it up again.  You can turn the WiFi back on at the Mac and use wireless to set up the Time Capsule again.
