Discoloured MagSafe magnets

Hi

When I went to plug in my MacBook to charge, I noticed some serious discolouration/corrosion/something around the magsafe port and connector. It has in the past been a bit "iffy" with the LED not lighting up straight away (unplugging it and plugging it back in would solve the problem), but this is all new. Help?

((It looks to me like the pins are fine, and that it's just the "surround" that has gone a funny colour. I've noticed no problems whilst using the MacBook, which was new in January) User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

On the old white MacBooks, that surface was white -- for a while. Normal wear and tear made it look less white after a while. It was just a thin layer of plastic material whose entire purpose was to look white to match the rest of the white MacBook.

I would say do not worry about color, check carefully about function. If you are having powering/charging issues, then go see the experts at the genius bar -- they put their hands on these Macs all day every day, and power problems are what they are best at solving. Your appointment for an evaluation is free, regardless of your warranty status.
