Q: Intermittent device connectivity

Hi, I have an Airport Extreme (Zoom modem).  We have multiple wireless devices (mac computers, IPhones, PlayStation, IPad).  All of them connect at some time, but none of them connect all of the time.  We unplug/restart the modem and router and can get some that were not connected to connect, but then others that were connected no longer connect.  We cannot figure out any pattern of what will or what will not connect.  The devices are no more than 1 room away so distance should not be an issue.  Thanks for any help.

Has this always been the case, or just started happening recently?

What exact model is your Zoom modem? How about the AirPort Extreme?

we had used the Airport Extreme (model A1521) in a different city with a different modem and ISP.  Fewer devices, but never a connectivity issue.  Previously, we had used the Zoom modem (5341J) in this house with an Airport Express and no connectivity issues.  So this is the first pairing of this particular modem and router together.  We are not using the Airport Express currently as we want to have that as a booster upstairs once we get the Extreme and Zoom working together consistently.

    Ok, thanks for the update.

It is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle of your networking hardware whenever you change any hardware or your ISP. Check out the following AirPort User tip for the details. Please post back your results.

I think that did the trick!  I wasn't able to do a hard reset on the Airport Extreme but through the Airport Utility I had it reset to the factory settings.  I didn't check every device, but I had 100% success rate on all that I did check (n=8) which is the most that we have ever had connected.  Thanks!!
