Q: Digital Touch Fails to Send
Hello,
My wife and I both have Apple Watches. We share the same Apple ID. I can't send Digital Touch messages to her, they fail immediately. I added my email Apple ID email address to her contact info and that got them to send, but now we both receive all of the messages we send. How can we rectify this?
My brother has an Apple Watch as well and the Digital Touch messages work fine between us (different Apple IDs of course).

Hi
For Digital Touch (and other services) to work correctly, you and your wife need to have separate Apple IDs and to be signed in accordingly on each of your devices.
Should you wish to share eligible past and future purchases, you can still do so via Family Sharing.
The following articles provide instructions for:
- Creating a new Apple ID:
- How to use that new Apple ID on an iPhone:
The person who changes to a new Apple ID will also need to unpair their watch before signing into their iPhone with their new Apple ID - and then pair their watch again afterwards:
