Q: VirtualMachine Support on Mac OS

Hi,

I have 8GB RAM (4GB in each slot) on my MAC OS.

I have installed Virtual Machine VMWare on my laptop with a Windows 2003 image so as to run some specific softwares in that VM.

Now when I see the RAM in that Windows OS under -----

MyComputer --> System it shows me as 3.58 GB RAM.

When i checked in VirtualBox VM under Settings --> System --> Motherboard, I see it is supporting 8192GB . So I tried to change it to around 6.5GB. This gets set properly in settings.

But now when I start my VM (Windows 2003), I still see the RAM as 3.58 GB. Now I am not sure how do I change that so that it can use both the RAM slots.

Can anyone please suggest something, it would be of great help.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
