iBooks Author won't preview on iPad Pro 9.7

I've written a few ebooks and never had a problem previewing them on an iPad. However, my current ebook won't preview. The process starts as usual with the message "preparing preview" but then iBooks Author hangs and Force Quit says it's unresponsive.

I started having this problem when I switched to an iPad Pro 9.7". To troubleshoot I checked if old books would preview and now even my old books - which always previewed fine - have the same with the iPad Books app saying that the preview process has become unresponsive. So I tried to preview on my Mac - and this failed too with the same messages. Then I tried to preview using my old iPad (which always worked) and the sam problem occurred.

My computer isn't running any betas or third-party software and the only variable is the new iPad. Has anyone else had this problem and know of a way round it?

Thanks.

Just been told by the Apple Books team that they have replicated the issue. They recommended previewing my next book using AirDrop form my Mac to my iPad Pro for checking and proofreading. The only problem is my 2012 Mac does not have Airdrop - does anyone know an alternative way to get an iBooks file into Books on my iPad for checking before publication?

I have tred transferring it as a file etc but Books on the iPad Pro won't accept it - yet the file opens perfectly on the Mac.

Something in an Apple update must have disrupted this preview function because it worked perfectly before Sierra.
