Q: Mail.app High CPU

Today I was sending emails for my company, everything was fine and then, I heard the noise from the fan. So I checked my monitor and it appeared that the mail app was using 180% of my CPU, and I don't know why. I've already checked on several forums where people having same issues but can't find any solution.

I've already tried to close the app, check to activity window from mail (nothing appeared).

If someone has a solution, I'm in ! Thank you for in advance..

    Hello Jospper,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that you heard noise from the fan on your MacBook Pro while working on some emails. I understand your concern with hearing the fans while you were working. One step you can take to help resolve this type of issue would be to reset the System Management Controller.

This article has the steps for you to use:

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

    Best Regards

Hi, thanks for the answer but doesn't help.

It seems the high cpu appeared when I send an attached document. In the mac console, i could see a lot of errors from com.apple.appkit.xpc.openAndSavePanelService, and also a lot of spotlight : XPC connection was invalidated; then others error from Mail...

I've seen some people had their CPU growing to 80/90% with Mail problem but mine goes to 180%..

I was doing some tests by sending mail with attachments or not. Nothing went wrong, except when I used a model for my mail. I'm pretty sure the problem comes from here; but I have no idea of how I could fix this.
