Imported Photos Not Syncing Up To Photostream

I sync my images taken on all my iDevices to the Photos app via Photostream and this works for me. I have an issue where it appears that I can only sync one way.

Any images imported into Photos on my iMac, taken by camera in jpeg format, will not upload to my devices (something which apple states is a feature of Photostream). I have to create an album and sync it that way. I'd prefer them to be uploaded automatically and appear on my iDevices with the rest of my photos rather than sitting within a separate folder.

I've double checked and Photostream is turned on all.

Looking at the settings, under the option of My Photo Stream, the subtext reads:

Import your recent photos from devices without iCloud Photo Library, and send new photos to the My Photo Stream album on those devices.

My Photos app is not doing that..

What are your iCloud settings on your Mac and on each IOS device?

All of your iCLoud setting on each device

Hi Larry.

I've double checked and Photostream is turned on all.

To elaborate, each device has Photos selected under iCloud and has My Photo Stream ticked under options.

Do the photos just not sync with the cloud or do they not go into your photo stream album.

I don't use iCloud Photo library so I only expect to see the images in my Photostream album/ feed on my iDevices

Whether this is of any help.. My Photostream on my mac has 389 photos in it.

It doesn't appear as fully synced when I compare my Photos tab which contains all of my most recent photos taken on my mobile devices

You might try the following, but before you begin ensure that all the photos currently in your photo stream album are also in your library.

1. Close Photos

2. Go to System Preferences, iCloud, Photos and disable “My photo Stream”

3. Go to Library > Containers > com.apple.cloudphotosd > Data > Library > Application Support > com.apple.cloudphotosd > services (Reveal the Library folder by looking in the Finders ‘Go’ menu, whilst holding down the ⌥ key (Option/alt key)

4. Delete com.apple.photo.icloud.myphotostream folder

5. Enable “My photo Stream” again.

6. Start Photos. After a while, the photo stream photos should start coming.
