Q: How can I fix error -36 codes coming from my company server on my MacBook Air?
I have a MacBook Air running on El Capitan, but most of my company is running PCs. We have server drives that we all can connect to, and I've been having trouble with a few of the servers. I've been getting Error Code -36 messages, files saying I don't have permission to open, among other problems. I have complete permissions on them. Mostly happening on Word files, both .doc and .docx files and a little bit with Excel files too. Both in opening a file or when I try to save a file.
I've used Terminal before at my previous job when files wouldn't copy or save or move to another folder with the -36 code, but I'm having trouble figuring out the path I should plug in for these servers.
Anyone else have suggestions on how to fix this? I've restarted the computer and that seems to help at least for a little while. But I need a permeant fix. Thanks!
