Q: iPhone won't recognize new number

Help please! I got a new number a few weeks ago. I have sprint and I was able to get a new phone number online. it works and everything when people call me, usually works but not always when they text me (see below). My iphone 6 is still not recognizing my new number fully...for some people my contact switched automatically but for others it hasn't. Also, when I look under Settings/Phone it shows my old number and I can't click on it to change it. In contacts it also displays 'my number' and I am able to click edit and change it but it doesnt save the changes. Another weird thing that's happening is when someone whose phone didin't automatically switch my new number tries to text me, it turns into a group message with my old phone number, the person texting me, and my new phone number.

    Hey ineedsomuchhelp,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. We can see from your post that you're having issues with your old number still being registered to your iPhone after changing it with your carrier. We can understand how this can be an inconvenience when sending messages or making calls so we'd be happy to provide you with some direction to resolve this.

Let's start by following the steps in the link below to set up or remove a phone number.

Add or remove your phone number in iMessage or FaceTime on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac

If these steps don't resolve this issue for you, please consult your carrier to make sure the old number is disassociated from your account as well. Let us know if this helps resolve your issue.

    Regards!
