Aug 31, 2016 1:36 PM in response to puppyballby ChrisJ4203,While someone else could experience that problem, it is not relevant to your situation. You want/need to fix your device. If a shutdown will fix it, and it occurs again, then there is the possibility there is something wrong with the headphone jack. You can make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple store to have the earbuds and jack examined by Apple. They will explain your options.

Aug 31, 2016 6:17 PM in response to puppyballby ChrisJ4203,You indicated no troubleshooting whatsoever. How is troubleshooting not relevant. You need to do something beside turn the device off and on, then come to the forum. The user troubleshooting steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore to factory. Also, it is possible there is a hardware error like I said with the headphone jack, and that would require the appointment. If you wish to see your device working again, you need to take some initiative, and that is very relevant.
