Q: Change Keychain Password Freezing Laptop

My Mac freezes when I click on change my keychain password. In fact, my Safari has stopped working ever since I tried to change the password and no other application opens because of the Keychain Access prompt freezing. Does anyone know how to fix this? It is particularly frustrating because the keychain password was already not working and now safari does not work at all either.

    Hello there, Ananda226!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with Safari and Keychain freezing up your system. I know how important it is to be sure the computer is working properly for you at all times! The first thing you should try is booting into safe mode to see if you can make the changes that will allow Safari to work as well as change the Keychain password for you. Check out this article here: Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up. Even though the article mentions not starting up, it also can help with these types of issues with the computer freezing up.

    Cheers!

Thank you for your response; however, once I booted my laptop in Safe Mode, I was not able to access the Keychain Access area to be able to try changing the passwords (I don't have any access to Applications at all). Do you have any other suggestion?
