Q: What about new radeon R9 M390 bootcamp driver?

Hi,

 

I have the lastest Imac 27" with AMD R9 M390 video card, but i can't use my wonderfull 5k screen due to old driver...

When I look for update, AMD crimson 16...just says that "can't find any AMD device .."

    The AMD GPU in this 5K is a variant, but does not match the PID/VID of the standard W10 AMD drivers. Do the BC drivers work properly, even if they do not support 5K resolution?

    Yes the BC drivers work properly. I have no problem with CAD softwares and some Games ( Battlefield 4 ) even if they are not adapted for 5K.

    The last BC / AMD drivers is dated 4/5/2016 with the revision number 15.301.

    The current version on Windows 10 is 16.30.231 , but I can't update it, as you said and i can't install new software.

    I'm just disappointed to have old graphic driver for a computer with less than one year.

    The 16.x drivers do not have an Apple equivalent yet. I recommend staying with the current BC drivers. There are known stability issues on a Mac using the standard Windows drivers (error code 43 and driver restarts).
