Q: AirPort no longer recognizes my Seagate hard drive
I have a mid-2010 macbook pro with the most up to date OS. For months I've been able to access a Seagate Hard drive via Airport. After attempting to import some photos into my photos library on the external hard drive, the app stalled out and suddenly it could not find the hard drive. My AirPort utility app still showed the hard drive, but with a yellow "!" triangle and said that it lost its server connection. My wifi works, airport still works. My hard drive works when I plug it into the USB port on my macbook, it just no longer works in connection with airport.
Any suggestions?

At this point, I would suggest that you perform a "factory default" reset on your AirPort base station. Then set it up again for both your networking goals and for sharing the USB hard drive.
