I recently got a notification on my App Store that there was an "HP Printer Software Update 5.0" that needed to be downloaded and installed on my macbook. I don't believe I've ever used an HP printer on this device (I only own a Brother printer), but I figured it was a "just in case" update. I tried to install the update, but every time it would stop calculating, it would show that it was "installed" underneath the "updates installed in the last 30 days" column, but it would still show as an available update. I tried this two other times with the same outcome.
So, now I'm stuck with the App Store icon having a red circle "1" on it, which is obviously tolerable, just slightly annoying. I'm also worried that my mac is malfunctioning by not allowing this update to occur. Any ideas on how to fix it, or how to remove it from my update list? Or any ideas on what is going on with my system?
