Q: Why doesn't find and replace work now ?

1) it doesn't work in 5.6.2 version

2) cant see invisible characters in find any more

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), (13-inch, Mid 2012)

That is all Pages 5 not just Pages 5.6.2

    Just keep using Pages '09.

3 years down the track this should hardly be either a surprise or news anymore.

    1. To a certain extent, yes it does, but not like pre-Pages v5, or MS Word.
    2. View menu : Show Invisibles.

Thats invisibles in the FIND search box.  They used to be visible if pasted in with text etc, now they are not.  Apple has not got a clue these days.

The invisibles used to be visible when?

I have just checked Pages '09 v4.1 on OS X 10.6.8, and Pages '09 v4.3 on OS X 10.8.5, and Pages '09 v4.3 on El Capitan — none by default, show invisible characters during a Find dialog. Pages v5.5.3 and v5.6.2 do not show invisibles on El Capitan during a Find.

I only have El Capitan installed now, so I cannot check Pages '09 or Pages v5 behavior on Mavericks or Yosemite.

As I mentioned, switch on invisibles now, before performing a Find operation. Apple very rarely restores any functionality that they have deliberately or inadvertently removed during OS X updates.
