Restore text msg conversation from iPad to iPhone?

In the Messages app on my iPhone, I accidentally deleted the entire conversation from one person. But I also have an iPad and see that it's still there on my iPad which surprises me. I guess text messages are not synchronized via iCloud? In any case, is there a way I can restore the conversation from my iPad to my iPhone?

I Doubt you'll be able to do it easily as messages are stored in a complex database. I've had succes backing up and restoring messages from Android to iPhone with software called backupTrans on Windows. I've seen OSX software called PhoneRescue that might do it. Obviously paid software which is a bummer. If you have an older back up you can restore it but then you lose newer messages. Not sure if you can choose your iPhone backup to restore from To the iPad?

See here:

Can I use my device's backup for another kind of device, like an iPhone backup for an iPad?

While you can restore a device from a backup of another kind of device, like using an iPad backup for an iPhone, certain types of content won't transfer. This content includes photos, Messages, attachments in Messages, Voice Memos, and apps that aren't compatible with the device that you’re setting up. For example, apps compatible only with iPad won't transfer to your iPhone.
