One line in my stylesheet is potentially made redundant, though it won't do any harm to leave it there. The new option does however help iOS users like our friendly neighborhood bobfather, or even me when I use my iPhone to check in.

    Remove formatting is the icon above the style selector.

     

    Even when you include a bare <img src="URL" /> tag in the html Jive helpfully wraps it up for clicking on anyway. I think this involves some funky behind the scenes stuff to do with the location of images hosted by ASC.

    No is no... except when it not.

    In all candor, 'pasting' an image like screenshot-discussions.apple.com 2016-09-01 11-52-20.png used to be very simple

    Right-click > copy image > paste (NOT image location, the image data in the clipboard)

    I have copied images from apple.com and pasted > http://images.apple.com/v/home/ct/images/misc/redcross_banner_large.jpgNOTHING HAPPENS

    The visible page sorta "jumps" a little - like it does when one clicks a user's profile area link in a post

     

    Go here > http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-watch/apple-watch-sport/38mm-space-gray-aluminum-c ase-black-sport-band?product=MJ2X2LL/A&step=detail

    Copy the watch image and paste it here and see what happens = NOTHING except  I get a scroll bar indicating a LOT of space used up by "something"

    THEN it just goes back to normal scrollbar when one does anything else in the editor

    I wonder what is preventing copy from another apple.com and pasting here?

    Hover over the placeholders. Those are not straightforward URLs you've picked up. They contain ? and &s. They probably only work when called from the right server.

    I will get 'er done... I will likely stumble across some "shortest route" when I least expect it. When I do, I'll report back with the news.
