Anyone else have a Blue Screen of Death?

Two weeks ago, just 7 days past my one year warranty with my mobile carrier, my phone started to have a serious problem. The screen will suddenly go blank--all bright blue--and then restart. I called apple support, they said to erase my phone and restore to factory for 24 hours. If the phone doesn't blank out during this period then its not supposed to be the hardware--instead its supposed to prove a software issue (this was IOS 9.3.4). I did this and the problem seemed to have gone away. Then I restored my files, apps, etc. from iCloud. I've since updated to IOS 9.3.5, but this morning the problem returned. Anyone else?

[Sorry if this post is in the wrong place. I tried to find IOS community, but the interface wants me to select an app of IOS??]

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.2

Hi

Follow the instructions here, including contacting Apple Support or making a Genius Bar reservation if necessary:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on - Apple Support

If you do need to contact Apple, be sure to flag when you first contacted Apple Support about the issue.

Er. Ok. With respect, that's not the problem I'm experiencing.

As I stated, I called Apple and they instructed me to test the phone in a particular manner, which I did. And if that doesn't work, then it's likely a hardware problem and I should go to the Genius Bar or arrange for service. But what will they tell me if the BSOD is intermittent and I can't reproduce the problem? Sure, maybe there's a crash log, but since the system just goes blue and shuts down, not sure, but I doubt any errors will be recorded.

I posed because maybe someone else had the problem and solved it. Without a relevant solution, the only answer now, out of warranty, is buy a new phone! No?

Since you updated to 9.3.5 have you tried what was suggested to you the first time, i.e. restore as a new iPhone and don't load your backup? If not then do so and see if the screen issue stops. If it does then there is a problem with some app on your iPhone and you will need to track it down and contact the developer. If you get the blue screen while running a bare bones iPhone you will need to make a Genius Bar appointment and take it in. If the phone is freezing when you get the blue screen it will log the crash and the tech at Apple will be able to see it.
