    Hello suephi,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are having issues logging into Hotmail from Safari. Lets start by removing the website data or cookies from Safari. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Privacy, under the button "Remove All Website Data" click "Details" and locate anything related to Hotmail and delete those cookies. Alternatively, you can click on the "Remove All Website Data" to remove all the cookies from Safari. Then test the issue.

    Best regards.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did go in and delete the cookies related to hotmail (live and hotmail) but as soon as I log into hotmail again the saved info reappears and the cookies are restored ???? I prefer to not delete all cookies as it will create problems with other websites but I do not understand why the deleted ones reappear ??? Any advice

you can give would be greatly appreciated.

    suephi,

Yes, that is normal. When you visit a website that uses cookies, they put them on your computer so that they recognize you when you come back the next time and can tailor your visit to what you did before. So, when you delete the cookies, they will see you as a new visitor and reinsert a new cookie. We delete cookies because sometimes the cookie file gets messed up and isn't providing the correct info. Deleting them forces the website to provide a new one.

You said you deleted them and went back to the site, did you continue to have the same logging in issue?

    Cheers.

Hi Alex Thanks for your help. Yes I continue to have a problem with hotmail.  Quite often when I go into hotmail it will freeze and I see a small round multi coloured ball. When that happens I have to quit Safari completely and go back in.

It is not every time however, it is the majority. This does not happen on my iPhone. I tried creating a new bookmark but again still the same. If I leave Hotmail open on my computer I will have a white screen at a later point and I have to reboot. This only happens with Hotmail….no other websites.  This is very frustrating as it only started this week. Thanks for any additional help you can provide. Much appreciated.
