Selfie Stick

Hi,

Up until a week ago I have been able to use my selfie stick with my iphone with no issues.

For some reason, now when I plug my stick into the headphone jack, and press the ‘take photo’ button on my stick, it brings up suri, and no longer takes photos. I feel like it is recognizing my selfie stick as if I was plugging in headphones instead.

Has anyone else had this issue and know how to resolve? I’m not sure why all of a sudden it stopped working.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.5

That's exactly what's happening. When you hold down the center button on Apple earphones, it calls up Siri. By plugging into the headphone jack, it thinks that the button on the selfie stick is the equivalent of that button. I am surprised that it ever worked. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer of the selfie stick for a resolution.
