Duplicate iCloud accounts in Contacts = duplicate contacts

My contacts app has 2 identical iCloud accounts, which has created duplicate contacts, and in some cases 3 or 4 of the same contact. If I delete a duplicate contact all info for that contact is erased. It seems like both these iCloud accounts are somehow directly linked. Any help will be appreciated!!!

I am running El Capitan Version 10.11.6 (15G1004).
