Q: Mac Pro Initial Setup with a Wireless Keyboard
I am setting up a Mac Pro out of the box and all I have is a wireless keyboard. Can/how can I get the Mac Pro to recognize the wireless keyboard before I have access to System Preferences? Thank you!

According to Apple...
• Set up your Apple wireless devices - Apple Support
Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad 2
Follow these steps to set up your Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, or Magic Trackpad 2:
- Connect the Lightning to USB cable to the Lightning port on the device, and connect the other end of the cable to your Mac.
- Make sure the device's power switch is in the ON position. (Green will be visible.)
- The device appears in Bluetooth Preferences and automatically pairs with your Mac.
- The Bluetooth Preferences window shows the connection status and charge level of your device. When the device is charged, unplug it for wireless use.
Note: Magic Mouse 2 can't be used while connected to the cable.
{However IF you happened to get an iMac with BT keyboard,
that is (paired and) supposed to work right out of the box.}
And then, there is this: (just in case you need to)
Identify your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad - Apple Support
The method I use, is to always have a wired USB keyboard/mouse handy.
Not sure if this may be helpful, but seems promising nonetheless...!
